Bug Guardian
Ep.#01 - The Bug Savior
Written by: CS-Masyet
Que is an average 10-year old girl who lives an average life. The only thing that is different about her is that her parents are never home... in the afternoon. So she has to take of herself after school because she's an only child.
Que: Okay, sandwich is ready! Oops, better wash my hands first... Goes to the sink to wash her hands, but sees a spider trying to crawl out of it. Oh no, a spider's in the sink! Puts her hand near the spider so it could crawl on it. Then she went outside and put it on the ground. There you go, little spider! Be careful next time, okay?
There is actually one other thing unique about her - she LOVES bugs. She saves every bug that she sees is in trouble; without letting her parents know. The reason: her parents are bug exterminators. Her parents don't like bugs and they think that her liking bugs is foolish. But she likes them anyway, and doesn't like it when people kill them for no reason... / Next day at school...
Teacher: Okay class, you can go outside for recess now, but don't rush...
Students: Yay!
All the students rushed out of the room.
Teacher: *sigh*
Que: Walks around school campus and stops when she sees an anthill. Oh, how cute! A bunch of ants!
Someone comes and stomps on the anthill.
?: Take that, stupid ants!
Que (crying): Jay! Why'd you do that? You destroyed the ants' home!
Jay: Who cares? They're just stupid bugs, you little baby...
Que (crying): *sniff*
Jay: Walks away.
Que: Sits there crying until the bell rings.
After school, at Que's house...
Que: Why does everyone have to be mean to poor little bugs? They don't do anything wrong; they don't deserve it... *yawn* Why am I so tired? ...zzz... Falls asleep... sitting in a chair.
Que dreaming...
Que: W-wha? Where am I?
Dream Spirit: Kind young girl, you seem very fond of bugs... Because of your kindness to them, I will grant you the ability to communicate with them.
Que: You mean be able to talk to them?
Dream Spirit: Exactly...
Que: Wakes up. H-huh? It was just a dream? *sigh* I wish that was real, being able to talk to bugs...
A spider crawls up on her knee.
Spider: I wish I could do something to help you, you look really sad...
Que: Don't worry, I'm fi- W-wait a minute, did you just talk?!?
Spider: W-wha? You can understand what I'm saying?!?
Que: Yeah, how are you talking?
Spider: I've always been able to talk, you just never understood me... Hey, did you hear me thank you yesterday, then?
Que: Thank me for what?
Spider: For saving me from drowning, remember?
Que: Oh, you're that spider? Wait, didn't I bring you outside yesterday? What are you doing back in here?
Spider: I was about to get eaten by a bird, so I decided being in here is safer...
Que: You can stay here if you want, I don't mind. I could use someone to talk to around here anyway.
Spider: Okay, thanks! So, what are you going to do now? Are you going to talk to other bugs?
Que: Oh yeah; I can talk to other bugs too! What kind of bugs should I talk to next? *giggle* This is going to be so much fun!
Just then, she remembers the ants that Jay stepped on at school.
Que: Wait, maybe I can be able to help bugs now that I can understand what they're saying!
Spider: But you helped me yesterday and you couldn't understand me...
Que: I mean in ways I couldn't before. Let's go! Runs out of the house and towards school (with Spider still on her leg).
Spider: Ahhh! Where are we going?
Que: To help some ants at school. Arrives at the yard at the back of the school. Here's the place.
Ants: Please, someone help! Some of the ants are buried in the ground!
Que: Don't worry, I'll help.
Ants: You can understand us? Wait, is that... Ah, a spider!
Que: Oh, I forgot! Spider, please don't eat the bugs...
Spider: Don't worry, I'm a vegetarian. In fact, I'll help the ants too if you want.
Ants: Thanks, but what are you guys going to do?
Spider: We'll just move the dirt with our arms.
Que: But my fingers will crush the ants... I know, I'll blow the dirt away!
Ants: But you might blow us away!
Que: Don't worry, I'll blow softly. Blows the dirt away and frees the ants.
Spider: Helps get the rest of the dirt off the ants.
Ants: Yay, we're all okay! Thank you!
Que: You're welcome.
Ants: Are you the Bug Guardian?
Que: The Bug Guardian?
Spider: The Bug Guardian was a kind person who was able to speak to bugs and help them when they were in danger. Stories have been passed down about this person for generations.
Que: Really? How many generations?
Spider: The stories are so old; no one knows. It's even considered a legend.
Ants: But the legend was right; the Bug Guardian has returned!
Que (blushing): Heheh, I don't know about that... Oh no, I'd better get going, it's starting to get late.
Spider: See ya, ants!
Ants: Bye!
Que went home after a long day, being watched by a colony of ants. Is Que really the next Bug Guardian? Only time will tell...
