Ep.#12 - Rocky Road

Rei gets upset from something Julius says, so she runs into the forest. She ends up getting lost and gets captured by the Ghost Monster. With the power of the Love Orb, Julius saves Rei from the Ghost Monster. Rei then tells him that her family was killed by The One. This makes Julius angry at The One, and vows to do his best to stop her!

Julius/Rei: Walk back to the campsite. It was already dark out.
Sarah: Where have you two been? It's already dark out. We didn't get to do anything today!
Julius: Sorry, Sarah...
Sarah: Jeez, were you two on a date or something?
Rei (blushing): Wha? Don't be silly!
Julius: We were looking for this. Takes out the Love Orb.
Sarah: Wow! It's so pretty! What's it for?
Julius: It's so I can use Love Power.
Sarah: Cool! Can I see?
Julius: Uh... S-sorry, I'm too tired...
Sarah: Oh, okay... *sigh*
Rei: Speaking of which, I'm ready to call it a day...
Julius: Me too... Good night...
Sarah: No way! Don't you know the best part of camping is at night?
Julius/Rei: *groan*

They all go in their tent. The parents were in another tent, sleeping. Julius and Rei hide their staffs in their sleeping bags (Stat and Statette are sleeping).

Sarah: So, what do you guys want to do?
Julius: Sleep... Falls asleep. Zzz...
Sarah: Brother! Wakes Julius up.
Julius: *groan*
Sarah: Sheesh, you should at least get changed before you fall asleep!
Rei: I should get changed too. Can you get out of the tent for a while, Temp?
Julius: Don't mind me; I'll just be here sleeping...
Rei: GET OUT!
Julius: ... Gets out of the tent.
Rei: You too.
Sarah: Huh? Why?
Rei: ...just get out, please...
Sarah: Okay. Gets out of the tent.
Rei: Changes her clothes. Okay, you two can come back in.
Julius/Sarah: Go back in the tent.
Sarah: Hey, those aren't pajamas; their just old clothes!
Rei: I don't wear pajamas, so?
Sarah: I was looking forward to seeing what your pajamas looked like... *sigh*
Julius: Hey Rei, why are you still wearing that bandana?
Rei: T-that's none of your business...
Julius: Did your parents give it to you?
Rei: N-no, I bought it myself...
Sarah: You know, we never met your parents have we? We should visit sometime, right brother?
Julius/Rei: ...
Sarah: Huh?
Julius: Rei's parents... were...
Rei: The One killed them.
Sarah (surprised): What?!? Who do you live with, then?
Rei: I live alone. I take care of myself.
Sarah: Oh... Hey, I know! Rei, you should live with us!
Rei: I can take care of myself, thank you. I don't want to burden you guys. Besides, I can't just leave my home...
Julius: Is it special to you?
Rei: Yeah, my parents and I built it ourselves. It holds a lot of memories...
Julius: Oh...
Sarah: Alright then, we'll just have to visit you often, then! We don't want you to be lonely. I'd be lonely if brother, mom, and dad were gone...
Rei: Thanks, Sarah. *yawn* I'm really tired now...
Julius: Me too...
Sarah: Brother, you haven't even changed yet!
Julius: Takes of his shirt and pants. There are old clothes underneath. There.
Sarah: Eh?!?
Rei: Why didn't you just do that before?
Julius: Heh, no idea...

They all go to sleep. / The next morning...

Rei (waking up): Huh? What's this? Is sleeping next Julius.
Julius (sleeping): Zzz...
Rei (wakes up/blushing): Ahhh! Moves back to her sleeping bag. W-what the heck was I doing?
Julius (sleeping): Why did it get colder all of a sudden? Wakes up. Hey Rei, are you awake yet?
Rei: Y-yeah, thanks to you... Gets up.
Julius: Gets up. Sorry...
Rei: Where's Sarah? Is she already up?
Julius: Most likely. I'm going to go outside for a while, so you can change if you want. Goes outside.
Rei: Okay, thanks. ... (Jeez, that's the last time I sleep in the same tent as him...) Changes, then goes outside. She sits at a table with Sarah.
Sarah: *giggle* G-good morning, Rei... Laughs.
Rei: What's so funny?
Sarah: You were... hugging brother when you were sleeping... *giggle*
Rei (blushing): D-don't tell him!
Sarah: Don't worry, I won't.
Julius: Comes to the table with three sandwiches. What're you guys talking about?
Rei: N-nothing important...
Sarah: Eats a sandwich. Yum, that was a good sandwich!
Julius: You already ate it?
Rei: ... Takes a bite of the sandwich. Hey, this is pretty good! What's in it?
Julius: Fish. Eats the sandwich.
Sarah: Oh yeah, dad caught some fish yesterday...
Rei: This is fish? It doesn't taste like it.
Julius: You don't like fish, Rei?
Rei: N-no, it's fine... Eats the sandwich.
Sarah: Where'd mom and dad go, brother?
Julius: To get firewood.
Sarah: Oh...
Stat: Comes out of the tent. Julius!
Julius: Good morning, Stat.
Stat: I sense a monster nearby!
Julius: Huh?
Sarah: Oh no, mom and dad are out there!
Rei: We'd better hurry then!

Julius and Rei grab their staffs from the tent and head for the monster. They end up on a dirt road. But something is wrong...

Julius: Why are there holes all over the road?

The ground begins to shake.

Rei: I don't think those are holes...
?1: Rahhh!
Statette: : It's a monster!

A monster made of rocks appears in front of them.

Rock Monster: Rahhh!
Julius: Stat, what elements are good against it?
Stat: From what you have right now? Leaf, Water, Earth, and Metal.
Julius: Oh, that's a lot...
Rei: Can I borrow some of your stuff?
Julius: Sure. Do you want to use the orb?
Rei: Eh... n-no thanks...

Julius gives Rei some grass, the rock, some dirt, and the water. He used the Love Orb, the rest of the grass and dirt, and the piece of metal for himself (he decides not to use the battery or the feather this time). Then they transform.

Rei: Wait a minute, aren't these the elements I used when we faced that sand monster?
Temp: Really? I hadn't noticed...
Rei: Whatever... Earth Power! Switches to Earth Mode.
Temp: Metal Power! Switches to Metal Power. Haven't used this in a while... Wait a minute, can I even use this power to attack?
Stat: Yes, you can. Try it.
Temp: 'kay, Metal Power! Shoots metal thorns at the monster.
Rock Monster: Rahhh! Aims rocks at Temp.
Rei: Earth Power! Creates a pillar of sand to block the rocks.
Temp: Thanks, Rei!
Rei: No problem. Water Power! Switches to Water Mode. Water Power! Shoots a blast of water at the monster, which causes it to fall down.
Rock Monster: Rahhh...
Temp: Earth Power! Switches to Earth Mode. Earth Power! Traps the monster into the ground. It's all you, Rei!
Rei: Gotcha! Leaf Power! Switches to Leaf Mode. Leaf Power! Shoots leaves at the monster.
Rock Monster: RAHHH!!! Explodes.
Temp/Rei: Change back to normal.
Sarah: Wow, that was amazing! You two make the perfect team!
Julius: You really think so? Hopefully it's enough to defeat The One...
Rei: No, I want to face her alone!
Julius: But I'm supposed to...
Rei: I want to do this by myself, Temp.
Julius: But we're supposed to be a team...
?2: Hey!
Sarah: Huh?

Julius and Sarah's mom and dad come back holding firewood.

Mom: What're you all doing here?
Sarah: You came back! I was so worried!
Dad: But we were only gone for 15 minutes...
Julius/Sarah: *giggle*

Temp and Rei defeat the Rock Monster with ease. The monsters are starting to become no match for the duo. Will it remain that way?
