Temp and Rei finally got a day that they didn't have to fight any monsters, so they used that day to learn about new elements. They learned about Earth, Stone, and Bug Powers. At school...Julius: Almost, just a few more seconds...
Sarah: Three, two, one...
DING DONG!Julius/Sarah: SUMMER TIME! Run home.
Sarah: Finally, school's over! This is going to be such a fun summer vacation!
Stat: You have no more school?
Julius: Not until the end of August!
Stat: Great, that'll give you more time to practice using elements, Julius!
Julius/Sarah: Glare at Stat.
Stat: What?
Sarah: No, we're going to have fun this summer! Right, brother?
Julius: Yeah, of course!
Stat: But you still hold the responsibility to destroy the monsters.
Julius: Yeah, I know...
Sarah: So anyway, what are we going to do today?
Stat: I could teach Julius more about the elements...
Sarah: No way! We're going to do something fun!
Rei: What's all the commotion about?
Julius: Huh?
Rei: Walks up to them.
Sarah: Hey, Rei! We were talking about what we should do to start off the summer!
Rei: Why don't we just learn more about the elements?
Stat: Finally, someone agrees with me!
Sarah: No, I meant something fun!
Statette: Hey, I know! There's going to be a festival today! We should go!
Rei: I already told you I didn't want to go, Statette!
Sarah: A festival? Sounds like fun! Where is it?
Statette: Right in the center of town.
Julius: That's not too far from here. We should go.
Sarah/Statette: Yeah!
Julius, Sarah, and Statette head to the festival.Rei: Why can't anyone agree with me?
Stat: Join the club...
Everyone gets to the festival.Julius: So, what do we do here anyway?
Statette: Look! Points to a stage with people on it. I think they're going to perform!
Sarah: Let's go see!
Everyone goes to the stage. One of the guys on the stage comes down to talk to them.Stat: Oh no! Goes back in the staff.
Statette: Goes back in the staff too.
Man: Sorry kids, we're still getting ready. Please come back later... Goes back on stage.
Sarah: That's too bad...
Rei: Whatever; let's just do something else for now.
Julius: Hey Stat, why are you hiding?
Stat: It's best no one else knows about us. It's bad enough Sarah knows...
Sarah: Hey, what's that supposed to mean?
Statette: Aw man, that's right! I won't be able to do anything fun if I'm hiding! Maybe if I pretend I'm a balloon...
Stat: No.
Sarah: Hey, let's go over there! There are a lots of carnival games!
Rei: Carnival games? Isn't this a festival?
Julius: Who cares, let's go!
They go play a game where you have to knock down bottles by throwing a ball at them.Julius: Me first!
Sarah: Good luck, brother!
Julius: Throws the ball and hits all of the bottles. Yes!
Sarah: Good job!
Julius: Your turn, sister.
Sarah: 'kay! Throws the ball and hits about half of the bottles down. Aw man, I should've thrown it harder...
Rei: My turn! Heeyah! Throws the ball but doesn't hit the bottles. Instead, it hits the wall and bounces back to her. Since she threw it so hard, she fell down. Ow...
Sarah: You okay?
Julius: *giggle*
Rei: Hmph...
They go play another game, this time a game where you have to hit a ball up a pole to hit a bell by hitting a switch with a rubber hammer.Julius: I'll go first! Hits the ball almost halfway up the pole. Aw man, not even close!
Rei: I bet I can do it! Using all of her strength, she hits the switch with the hammer, sending the ball up really high. Unfortunately, it falls back down after being only a few inches away from touching the bell. You've got to be kidding me...
Julius: Aw, so close...
Sarah: My turn!
Rei: (Heh, she's probably going to only get it up 2 inches...)
Sarah: Swings the hammer, but accidentally hits Rei's foot instead of the switch.
Rei: (OW!!!)
Sarah: Oh no, are you okay?
Rei: T-that didn't h-hurt...
Statette: Let's see if the band's ready yet.
Julius: Good idea, let's go!
They all go back to the stage.Man: So, where is she?
Man 2: She's sick today; she couldn't make it.
Man 3: Aw man, she's the star! We can't do this without her!
Julius: What's going on?
Man: Sorry kid, the star of the show couldn't make it.
Sarah: Does that mean there'll be no show?
Man 3: I'm afraid so...
Sarah: Aw man...
Julius: What did you guys plan on doing?
Man 2: The star was supposed to play a song on a flute while we played our instruments in the background.
Statette: Hey Rei, don't you have a flute too? You could take her place!
Rei: W-what?!? No way!
Julius: What's wrong, Rei?
Rei: N-nothing...
Statette: Rei has a flute! She could play in the star's place!
Rei: Statette!
Sarah: Really? Is she good?
Statette: Yeah; she's really good!
Man 2: Come again? Can one of you play the flute? We'd really appreciate the help!
Statette: Come on, Rei!
Rei: I already told you that I don't like playing in front of other people...
Sarah: But if you don't, then they can't perform!
Statette: Please; you're the only one who can do this...
Rei: *sigh* I guess I have no choice...
Statette: Yay!
Man: If you're going to perform, then come this way.
Rei: Alright... Goes backstage with the guy.
They give Rei an outfit to wear, then go back to the stage to let her get changed. She puts it on, but doesn't seem to like it.Rei: It's bad enough I have to perform; but why do I have to wear this?!?
Statette: Is it uncomfortable?
Rei: No, that's not it. It's that I don't like how I look in this!
Statette: But Rei, you look so pretty!
Rei: Exactly! I don't want to look pretty!
Man 2: Walks up to the door. Are you ready?
Rei: *sigh* Let's get this over with... Goes up on stage, holding her Red Flute.
Sarah: Wow, you look so pretty!
Rei: ...
Julius: Yeah, you look really good in that outfit, Rei!
Rei (blushing): R-really?
Statette: Rei, your face is red...
Rei: S-shut up, Statette...
Man: Alright, it's time to start!
Sarah: I can't wait!
The first guy and the third guy played guitars, the second guy played drums, and Rei played her flute. Their show was a success!Julius/Sarah: Clap.
Man 2: You did a great job! Almost better than the person that was supposed to play!
Rei: Really?
Julius: Yeah, you were really good!
Sarah: I think so too!
Man: You should come play with us again if our star is sick again!
Rei: Uh... (No way!)
Stat: We should get going; it's getting dark.
Julius: You're right! We have to go now!
Man 3: Alright, see ya! And thanks for your help!
Julius and the others left the festival. Man: They're good kids...
Man 2: Hey, wasn't the stage brown?
Man 3: Yeah, so? ...huh?!?
The stage wasn't brown; it was red.Man: B-but how did that happen? We haven't left the stage all day; so someone couldn't have painted it...
Man 2: Maybe we haven't got enough sleep!
They all laugh. So Rei ended up performing with the band. Did she enjoy it? And how did the stage turn red? It was brown before Rei played...
