Julius
After school...
"Yes, today's Friday! Which means tomorrow's the weekend!"
"Why is that so great, exactly?" Stat asked me questiongly.
"Because that means I can sleep in!" I responded happily.
"I'm sure if Sarah heard you say that, she'd be pretty mad..."
"E-eh, um... Please don't tell her..."
"Huh? What are you two talking about?" Sarah asked, meeting up with me to go home.
"Uh, nothing important." I said, deciding to change the subject. "Anyway, did you get any homework? I was wondering if you could help m-..."
"About that, there's something I wanted to ask you, bro." Sarah interupted, with a strangely serious look on her face.
Oh, drat! Did she figure out about my sleeping in plan already?!
"Did you have to stay after yesterday? You're going to be in sooo much trouble if mom and dad find out you got detention for sleeping in class again!"
"W-what?! No!" I exclaimed, shaking my hands in denial. "It was actually... Um..."
"It was a monster." Stat explained bluntly.
"A monster?! S-seriously? At school?" Sarah said in shock. "Was it the one that made the hole in the computer room wall?"
"Yeah, that's right. But I destroyed it, no problem."
"Why didn't you tell me!?" She asked angrily.
"What are you so mad about? It's not like I knew the monster would break the wall..."
"That's not it! It's just..." Sarah looked down the ground, with a sorrowful expression on her face.
"Huh? What is it?"
"Julius! I sense another monster nearby!" Stat interjected.
"What, already?!"
"C-can I come too? Please?" Sarah pleaded.
"No! It's too dangerous!" He answered strictly.
"Fine! Be that way!" She started to cry. "See if I care!" Sarah ran off before I could say anything.
"Sis, wait!" Just what is she so upset about...?
"We can worry about her later. There's more important things to be focusing on right now. Like..."
"... the monster, I know." I said, groaning. "Where is it, anyway?"
"Hm..." Stat went silent for a moment. "It's... oh no..."
"What? What's wrong?"
"The monster is located near where Sarah ran off to!"
"What!? Do you think she's..."
"BRAHHH!!!"
All of a sudden, a giant bird-like beast flew overhead. It was holding a girl. Not just any girl though, it was...
"Bro, help me!"
"Oh no, sis!"
"You must stop that monster!" Stat told me. "Who knows what'll do to your sister or the people of this town!"
"Easier said than done! How am I supposed to stop it when it's all the way up there?! Also..." I got pushed by the bird's tailwind. "It's so windy..."
"That's perfect! Point your staff up in the air, and shout out the usual!"
"What? But I don't have any elements in the sta-..."
"Your staff will react as long as there are available elements close enough to it! Hurry!"
"Um, okay... If you say so..." I did as he said, having no clue what would happen next. "ELEMENT TEMP!!!"
I transformed once again, my clothes becoming light-green this time. But that's not all, I seemed to be surrounded by a small tornado of some kind.
"Huh? So my power this time is..."
"Wind. You can use its power to create gusts of wind and soar through the sky with ease."
"Great! Now I'll have no problem reaching the bird now!"
I made as big a jump as I could possibly muster, and flew upward swiftly. As soon as I saw the bird, I made a beeline for it.
"God job, Julius! You're doing great."
"Thanks! I'm surprised how easy this is, myself!"
"But be careful; flying around wastes the staff's gathered energy, and it'd be bad if it ran off while you're up here..."
"Great... And I was trying my best not to be afraid..."
"BRAHHH!!!"
"But there's no time to worry about that! I have to stop that thing and save sis!"
"Bro!" Sarah called out to me.
"Let go of her, you overgrown chicken!" I yelled, after getting the bird's attention.
"I don't know if dropping her would be such a good idea." Stat stated. "Seeing as we're so high up..."
"That's not exactly what I meant..."
"Anyway, if you want to attack it, say 'Zephyr Stroke'."
"Alright, Zephyr Stro-..."
"...and make sure not to hit Sarah. That'd be pretty bad."
"Yeah, I know! Stop helping me!" I coughed. "Zephyr Stroke!"
Lines of wind were shot out of my staff, hitting the bird in the face...
"Yes! Got it!"
...but that made it drop Sarah.
"Oh, dang it!"
"AHHH!!!" Sarah screamed, falling down rapidly.
"Hurry and grab her!" Stat exclaimed.
I flew down quickly, and barely grabbed her before reaching the ground.
"That was close..."
"Thank you, bro." Sarah said to me, grabbing onto me tightly.
"Don't forget about the monster, Julius." Stat told me, after I placed Sarah down.
"Yeah, I know. Let's finish this!" I flew back up, and stared down the bird.
"BRAHHH!!!"
"'Finish this'? We've only just started..."
"Zephyr Stroke!" I shot more wind at its head. "Bullseye!"
"Why do you keep hitting its head? Are you doing it on purpose?"
"Well, I just thought it'd be weak there or something..."
"I'd think its wings would be a better target, but I suppose that also works..."
"Oh, right... Heheh..."
"BRAHHH!!!" The bird angrily charged at me.
"Whoa!" I moved out of the way, almost getting hit. "Oh, you want some more?!"
"Don't provoke it..."
"I'm mad at it, okay? Zephyr Stroke!" I shot wind at its wings this time. "Alright, it seems to be working!"
"Be careful Julius, you don't have much energy left!"
"Oh no! What should I..."
"BRAHHH!!!" It charged at me again, which I barely avoided.
"Oh, I have an idea!"
"I have a bad feeling..."
I waited for it to come near me, and whacked it on the head with my staff.
"Hiyah! Take that!" I exclaimed.
"..."
"BRAAHHH..." The monster started to glow, just like the last one.
"There!"
"Julius, hurry and get out of the way!"
"Cheep, cheep... I just wanted to fly through the sky... C-cheep..."
It's just like that other time...
The bird exploded, pushing me toward the ground.
"Yahhh!"
I landed in a tree, because my power had apparently run out.
"O-ow..."
"Julius, you were too reckless!"
"Sorry... But I defeated it, right?"
"I-I suppose... A job well done."
"Bro, are you okay?" Sarah ran up to me, after I had gotten down from the tree.
"Yep, I'm fine. I was pretty cool though, right?"
"Yeah, I was surprised at you today." She said to me, wearing an expression of relief. "But that bird was..."
"Huh?"
"I've seen it flying around. I was surprised it was a monster..."
It's like the thing with the computer...
"Anyway, I sorry I got mad at you, bro."
"Now you know the dangers the monsters bring." Stat told her sternly.
"I know... That's exactly why I was..." She paused. "I was scared it would be too much for Julius to handle himself..."
"Sis..."
"You don't need to worry about him." He responded with a comforting tone. "I'll make sure to guide him properly."
"Yeah, and I've been doing a good job so far, right? So I'll be fine."
"But you can't do what you did again today, Julius. For your sister's sake, as well as Tempus's."
"Ah..."
"Huh? What's he talking about?" Sarah asked me, glaring at me. "What did you do?"
"N-nothing! Nothing that's a big deal, anyway. Really!"
She sighed. "Just be careful, bro. Okay?"
"Alright, I promise..." I nodded, scratching the back of my head.
End of Chapter 3

Writer's Comments:
Alright, chapter 3 is finished! Yay! And it's only been 3 months since the last one, too!
...
So you're probably wondering what's up. You see, tomorrow, June 4th, is a very special day. It's the 5th anniversary of the second series I ever created (that I'm still working on, anyway). And that is, of course, Element Temp!
5th anniversaries are pretty special, right? And what better way to celebrate it than to put up a new chapter? So I worked into the wee hours of the night to make sure I got this up on time...
... and got it up a day early! Thank goodness...
Okay, this section is becoming longer than normal, so let's talk about my opinions on this chapter already. Honestly, it's pretty much the same as my thoughts on the previous one; it's... not all that great. But I think it's all that bad, either... sorta. Well, it's fine... because a certain character is going to be introduced next chapter! And that character is...
*drumroll*
... going to be revealed next time! :P

More Writer's Comments (December 13, 2012):
Hold on, past me. I was reading this over again (to fix some stuff, per usual), and saw this comment you (I?) made. I have to say, compared to the previous version, this chapter was pretty decent.
I'll admit, I kind of rushed this one because I really wanted to get to chapter 4 (which I still haven't worked on... *ahem*). However, I think the fight scene wasn't too bad (surprisingly). I also established Julius's and Sarah's personalities well, and showed their relationship better, too.
So yeah. Sorry for making this already long section longer, but I felt I needed to say this. So, until next time...
