Indigo the Witch
Episode #10 - The Truth

Written by: CS-Masyet

Indigo and Sharp get back home from their vacation. A while after it starts to rain, so they can't play outside. Indigo however takes advantage of this to learn how to cast lightning. She does, and also learns how to use "Lightning Boom", which is a combination of lightning and fire.

Indigo: Sitting in the kitchen eating cereal.
Sharp: Sits down next to Indigo. Indigo, can I ask you a question?
Indigo: Sure, what? *munch*
Sharp: What is it like where you come from? Do witches act like humans?
Indigo: Finishes her cereal. Kinda. Except we have magic and humans have technology.
Sharp: Witches don't have technology?
Indigo: You might consider it technology, but it actually isn't. Everything is run by magic.
Sharp: Really? Could I visit sometime?
Indigo: No, humans aren't allowed in the Witch World. We don't like humans that much, actually...
Sharp: How come?
Indigo: Witches picture humans as reckless savages. But I know now that's not true!
Sharp: Wait, why would your dad send you to the Human World if witches don't like humans?
Indigo: My father studied humans to see how they currently act. He saw that this place was peaceful, so he decided to send me here. He said something about me "needing to go see the world more." At first, I thought I was going to just live with the commonfolk...
Sharp: Commonfolk?
Indigo: Uh, n-never mind! Anyway, when he mentioned the Human World, I got really nervous...
Sharp: You didn't seem nervous to me the first time we met.
Indigo: Something told me that you were a nice person, so I felt better. By the way, have you ever heard of witches before you met me?
Sharp: Yeah. There's an old legend about a war between humans and witches over 3,000 years ago. I never believed it though. I still don't actually.
Indigo: Well, it's true; we have the same legend in the Witch World.
Sharp: Yeah, I guess that can't be a coincidence. But the way the witches are described is so unreal...
Indigo: It seems pretty realistic to me.
Sharp: Maybe the legend in our world is described differently than in your world. We have a book that tells of the legend.
Indigo: Can I see it?
Sharp: Sure; let's ask my mom where it is.
Sharp/Indigo: Go into the living room, where Sharp's mom is. She's watching TV with Katie.
Katie: Hi, Sha!
Sharp: Hey, Kat!
Mom: Hello, Sharp. Do you need something?
Sharp: Where's the witch book?
Mom: Somewhere at the top of the bookshelf. It's too high for you, so I'll get it. Gets the book.
Katie: Stowy! Stowy!
Mom: You want me to read this book to you, Katie?
Katie: Yay!
Mom: Alright... "About 3,000 years ago the world was attacked by people who possessed magic powers. They called themselves witches and warlocks. It seems that they wanted to rule the world with their newly found power. But all the people banded together and put an end to the witches and the power they had possessed." And that's it.
Indigo: T-that's not how it happened! That book makes the witches seem evil...
Mom: I guess they were, in a sense. And there is only one legend about the witches, so this has to be right...
Indigo (crying): No! *sniff* Runs out the door.
Sharp: Indigo!
Mom (confused): Was it something I said?
Sharp: Yeah, it's when you said witches were evil.
Mom: But why would that upset her?
Katie: Wish fwend...
Mom: No Katie, witches are bad.
Katie: No... Igo wish.
Mom: Huh?
Sharp: Mom, would you still like Indigo if she was a witch?
Mom: That's a weird question for you to ask, especially since you don't believe in witches.
Sharp: I do now, because she is a witch.
Mom: Sharp! How could you say something so bad about Indigo like that?
Sharp: I'm serious, she really is a witch.
Mom: What?
Katie: Igo wish... Igo fwend...
Mom: But that can't be...
Doug: Comes in the room. I knew there was something strange about her.
Sharp: Doug!
Doug: The night before we met Indigo, I saw something crash into the garbage cans outside. It looked like someone riding on a broom. That was Indigo, wasn't it?
Sharp: ...yeah...
Doug: And the day before her magic show, you two were in the house and just disappeared. There wasn't a sign of the door being opened or anything. And the thing at the beach...
Sharp: T-that wasn't her fault! Besides, she fixed it anyway...
Doug: But don't you find it strange that she would do something like that?
Sharp: It wasn't her! It was another witch!
Doug: Another witch? For all you know, she could be lying to you!
Sharp: It's not a lie! I'm going to look for her...
Doug: If you think about it, we're better off without her. It's best you don't.
Mom: ...
Sharp: You're not going to stop me... Runs out the door.
Doug: Sharp! Starts to go after him, but Katie grabs his leg.
Katie: No! Igo fwend!
Doug: What?
Mom: Katie!
Dad: Comes in the room. Let him go.
Doug: But why?
Dad: Sharp is young, but he's a smart kid. He can handle this on his own. If Indigo is dangerous, then Sharp would know.
Doug: ...
Katie: Sha... Igo...
Doug: ...if he doesn't come back in an hour, then I'm going to look for him.
Dad: Fine.
Sharp: Outside looking for Indigo. Indigo, where are you?
