Chapter #01 Preview

"A pirate?!" She said in shock.

"Yes, a pirate. Is that such a surprise?"

"I want to be a pirate too!"

Not the reaction I was expecting...

"So where's your crew?"

"Don't have one yet."

"So it's just you? That would make you the captain, then!"

"Yes, obviously."

"Alright, then I'll be your first member!"

"No."

"Why nooooot?!"

"What good would it do me to have you come with me? You'd only be good for annoying people to death."

"Show's what you know! You'll regret not having someone like me~!"

"What makes you so special, huh?"

"I'm a vampire!"

"... What?"

"Didn't you see me sleeping? Normal people don't sleep during the day!"

"Yep, and you definitely aren't normal..."

"I'm serious! I even have bat wings!"

"What's that have to do with anything?!"

"I'll prove it! Watch!" The girl picked up Saio's crate and started flying around with it, which both perplexed and angered Saio a bit.

"I get it already! Put it down!"

"Okay, okay!" She carefully put the crate back in the boat, still flying in the air. "So now can I come?"

Saio sighed, hoping he wouldn't regret the decision he was about to make.

"Fine, I get it wouldn't hurt."

"Yay!"

"I am to believe you understand your circumstances. Since I am your captain, you are to follow all of my orders. Understood?"

"Aye aye, captain! Hee hee~!"

"Which means you shouldn't get any ideas about flying away when you don't feel like being a pirate anymore."

"I won't do that. Promise!"

"Hmm..." I'm not sure if she'll really stay for good, but whatever. "Alright, we've wasted enough time. Let's go."

"Okay!"

The two of them set sail to the wide open ocean. The boat was small, but surprisingly fast.


While in the middle of the ocean, Saio cleaned his sword, while the girl just stared at the water.

"I'm bored."

"I don't care. Find something to do."

The girl groaned, drawing in the water.

"I just realized," Saio said out haphazardly. "I never got your name. What is it?"

"Taby is my name." She grinned. "It's fitting, right?"

"No idea what you're talking about."

Taby's grin turned into a frown. "So, what's yours?"

"My name? It's Saio. But just call me 'Captain'."

"Okay, Captain Saio!"

"Just 'Captain' is fine..."

Islands
Southeast Island = Light Azore
Island where the story starts.
South Island = Star Sapphire
Island where Kayo is from.
Southwest Island = Turquoise
Island where Via is from.
West Island = Chrysolite
Island Saile's crew arrived at after the island that Via is from.
North Island = Red Onyx
Small island that had become deserted after a war between pirates and the SIS took place. Was previously called "Onyx". Is very close to Heliotrope.
Northeast Island = Zircon
Island where Ajnin is from.
East Island = Alabaster
Island where Shota joins the crew.
Center Island = Padparadscha
Island where Dr. Tabooria, the famous doctor, lives. Is the biggest island of them all.
Northwest Island = Heliotrope
Island where the SIS base is located.

The first section is from a WordPad doc I had saved called "Ch.#01 Preview", which I'm assuming I wrote before the actual Ch.#01 (2011). There are a few differences between this and the actual chapter (I'm assuming because I touched up a few things), so I figured it was worth adding for preservation reasons. The second section is from a WordPad doc called "Islands", which was basically notes for the 2016 version. I didn't think it was worth making a separate HTML page for, but I thought it was worth adding in general, so I decided to include it in this page.
