Episode #01 - Sérgio Shrinks

Two years after defeating Darkés, Sérgio gets a letter from his friends Serge and Sprit to visit them on Serge Island. So Sérgio flies there, happy to be seeing his friends again. But Sérgio is in for a surprise, and not a good one...

Sérgio: Hey, you guys! I'm here! Huh, where is everybody?
?1: So you actually came, Sérgio...
Sérgio: That voice!
?1: Appears in front of him.
Sérgio: Darkés!
Darkés: It's about time. I was getting tired of waiting.
Sérgio: What have you done with my friends?
Darkés: Your friends? They're perfectly fine. That invitation you received was fake.
Sérgio: So it was just a plan to get me to come here, then.
Darkés: Exactly. I want to test your strength.
Sérgio: Feh! I'll just beat you like I did last time!
Darkés: Don't be cocky. It won't be so easy this time... Pulls out a rod and shoots a weird ray of energy from it.
Sérgio: What the?!? Gets hit with the beam. Ahhh! Becomes younger. W-what happened to me?!?
Darkés: This is a Minus Rod. It makes someone younger by 7 years.
Sérgio: W-what?!? Change me back!
Darkés: Only if you defeat me.
Sérgio: Fine! Photon! Shoots a Photon at Darkés.
Darkés: Deflects it. Shadow Pulse... Hits him with a Shadow Pulse.
Sérgio: Ahhh! Falls into the ocean.
Darkés: Hmph, weakling... Disappears.

A few hours later...

Sérgio: Wakes up in a bed. Huh?
Nurse: You feeling okay?
Sérgio: Gets out of the bed. W-wha? Where am I?
Nurse: You're in Serge City Children's Hospital.
Sérgio: Children's hospital?
Nurse: Yes. I found you unconscious in the waters of Tangerine Beach. What were you doing there?
Sérgio: I'm not sure... Oh wait, I remember now! It was because of Darkés!
Nurse: Darkés?!? What did he want with you?
Sérgio: You know Darkés?
Nurse: Yeah. He had a battle with Sérgio two years ago. It's known all around Serge City. Speaking of which, you look a lot like Sérgio...
Sérgio: That's because I am Sérgio.
Nurse: But that can't be possible! I heard he was at least 12 years old now...
Sérgio: (Oh right, I forgot Darkés made me younger...) I-it's hard to explain...
Nurse: Oh, so that's it...
Sérgio: Huh?
Nurse: Oh, it's nothing...
?2: M-Ms. Pathy!
Ms. Pathy: What's the matter, Jimmy?
Jimmy: April and January... they're being attacked by black ghosts!
Ms. Pathy: What?
Sérgio: Ghosty Boys! Runs out of the room with Jimmy. Tell me where the room is!
Jimmy: T-to your left...
Sérgio: Opens the door to his left.
Ghosty Boys: Ghosty Boy!
April: S-somebody help!
January: Stay back, you stupid ghosts!
Ghosty Boy: Ghosty Boy!
Ms. Pathy: Comes in. O-oh no!
Sérgio: Flash Burst! Shoots a Flash Burst at the Ghosty Boys.
Ghosty Boys: Ghosty Boy! Disappear.
Jimmy: W-wow!
April: You saved us!
January: ...
Ms. Pathy: Wow... you really are Sérgio!
Sérgio: Told you.
Jimmy: You're Sérgio?!? No way!
April: But you're so small! What happened?
January: (He's Sérgio?!?)
Sérgio: Darkés made this rod like device and zapped me with it. Apparently that made me like this...
Ms. Pathy: So you're going to find him, then? While you're like this?
Sérgio: Yeah, that's right. I have to make Darkés turn me back to normal.
April: But it might be dangerous for you, because you're smaller now...
Sérgio: That's alright. I haven't really got a choice, anyway.
Jimmy: Wow, that's awesome. Hey, can I have your autograph, Sérgio?
April: Me too!
Sérgio: U-uh, sure... (I didn't know I was so famous...) Gives them both his autograph.
April/Jimmy: Thanks!
Ms. Pathy: *giggle* Can I have one too?
Sérgio: *sweatdrop* Heh, okay... Gives her an autograph.
April: Hey brother, do you want one too?
January: No thanks...
April: Oh, okay...
Sérgio: Your name's January, right?
January: Yeah, that's right.
Sérgio: You were very brave. Standing up to those Ghosty Boys.
January: Someone had to protect April from those things. I don't want to lose her. Especially since it was my fault our parents died...
April: No, it wasn't! Don't say that!
Sérgio: Huh?
Ms. Pathy: January's parents died from a fire. He and April were injured in the fire, so that's why they're in this hospital.
Sérgio: Oh, I see...
January: I couldn't save my parents... Because I was too scared...
Sérgio: That's alright, it's natural to be scared of fire. Besides, I think your parents would rather die than lose you.
January: ...
Sérgio: So Jimmy, why are you in this hospital?
Jimmy: I almost drowned in Tangerine Tides. I had trouble breathing because of that.
Ms. Pathy: He's almost done recovering though. He'll be fine in just a few days.
Jimmy: Really? Awesome!
Sérgio: Oh by the way, I've been meaning to ask you...
Ms. Pathy: Huh?
Sérgio: Where are the nurses in this hospital?
Ms. Pathy: The only other nurse that works here went to a funeral today.
Sérgio: But aren't you a little young to be a nurse, especially by yourself?
Ms. Pathy: Actually, I'm only an apprentice.
Sérgio: Still...
Ms. Pathy: Hey, I'm older than I look.
Jimmy: No, you're not. You're only 11.
Ms. Pathy (blushing): H-hey, don't tell him my age! It's embarassing!
April: But you're still a kid, why does it matter?
Ms. Pathy: Oh, w-would you look at the time! You guys should get some rest now.
Jimmy: What, already?
April: Aw, man...
Sérgio/Ms. Pathy: Leave the room.
Sérgio: Well, it's time I get going...
Ms. Pathy: Oh, you're already leaving?
Sérgio: Yeah. Who knows what Darkés is up to. I can't waste any time.
January: Walks up to them. Sérgio.
Sérgio: January?
January: When you return to normal... Can you come back and teach me how to fight?
Ms. Pathy: What?
Sérgio: Hm... Maybe in a couple of years.
January: Oh...
Sérgio: But don't wait for me. The best way to learn is learning by yourself.
January: Smiles. You're right. Thank you. Goes back in the room.
Ms. Pathy: In all the time he's been here, I've never seen him smile once... until now.
Sérgio: (Become strong, January...) Well, see you. Tell them I said goodbye.
Ms. Pathy: Alright, bye.
Sérgio: Flies off.
Ms. Pathy: Oh no, I forgot to tell him my name! *sigh*
