Tansa, one of the Spiritual Guardians, blessed the region of Roc-Drollow with his "colored spirits" soon after its creation. They were to protect the citizens of the land, so peace there would remain eternal. He was afraid it might become like the region that was lost long ago...

However, the dark hearts of the people turned some of the colored spirits into dark-colored spirits, which spread chaos throughout the land. So the remaining light-colored spirits called on the help of the good-hearted people to aid help in their time of need.

And that's how the Light-Colored Organization first came into being...

Bel

I sat there at my desk, eyes half-open, listening to the same old stuff I've heard a gazillion times. You'd think with my grades I could advance out of 10th grade, at least. But I can't. Why, you ask?

Because I've had to constantly transfer schools.

You see, my parents think that there's something missing in their lives, so they're traveling around trying to find it. They have no idea what that "something" is, but that doesn't bother them. It bothers me, though. You'd think they would try and understand their only daughter's feelings for once... but no.

Although, to be honest, I sometimes feel like there's something missing too... But I've at least gotten over it!

I was born with the ability to remember a lot of things easily and perfectly, so it obviously gets me really good grades. I don't look very intelligent though (and to be honest, I'm technically not all that smart), so the grades I get are usually a shock to everyone. So, is this ability I have a good thing?

... No, not really. At least, not for someone in my situation. Because I transfer so much, I've had to learn everything over and over and over again. Heck, if I was smart enough, I could probably skip to the next grade even without my ability!

The schools I've been to haven't been much different from each other, either. It's because of this that things have been pretty boring for me.

It sometimes made me wish I lived in the era of the colored war...

--

I wonder if the other regions still go through magical wars like we did? Will something like that ever happen to us again?

... Did it even happen at all?

"Sometimes I doubt it, considering how boring thigs are now..." I said to myself, eating lunch alone at an empty table.

If I'm so bored, why am I sitting alone? Well...

"Look at that girl, with that same bored expression as always." A girl said to her friend at another table.

"I heard she constantly transfers schools so she can find one that suits her tastes." Her friend responded.

"What, is this school not good enough for her?!"

... That's why.

It was the same old rumors. It annoyed me, just like everything else.

Why can't something exciting happen for once?

And just as I was finishing my lunch, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I looked out the window and saw some strange guy, roaming outside of school and looking around.

What is he doing? Was what I thought (and probably anyone else who saw him).

It wasn't exactly "exciting", but it was certainly interesting.

Beggars can't be choosers, I guess.

I packed up my stuff and went outside to see what was going on.

--

I hid behind one of the outdoor pillars to hide from the strange guy, since I didn't want him to see me. In hindsight, it would've probably been better to leave my stuff behind, but oh well.

Heheh, I feel like some sort of spy! But seriously, I wonder what he's doing?

"Almost done with recon. I should head back to base soon..."

"What's he talking about? Is he from another school or something?" I said to myself quietly.

"Huh? Who's there?!" The boy exclaimed suddenly, turning in my direction.

"Meep!" I covered my mouth in surprise.

Did he hear me?!

"I must be imagining things..." He said, turning back away from me.

That was close...

"I hate having to sneak around the school like this. It's too nerve-wracking..."

Okay, he's definitely up to something. It's a good thing I didn't just walk up to him casually...

As I started to follow him, I accidently stepped on a rock. "Ow!" I uttered, before hiding behind the pillar again.

"Okay, I knew I heard something that time!" The boy started walking in the direction of where I was hiding.

Oh no, he's going to find me!

"Forget it, it was probably just a squirrel or something."

Dang, this is making my heart race... This isn't the kind of excitement I wanted!

"Everything seems fine here, so I'll head back."

Head back where?

He put his hand on the wall, and part of it disappeared.

Wha? How did he do that?!

He stepped into the secret passage he'd made. I decided to followed him.

I'm way too curious about this. I have to ask him directly!

"This is Oran. I'm heading back to base now." He said into his ear, unaware of my presence.

"Um, excuse me..." I started to say.

Before I could say anything else, a giant circle of orange light started to surround us.

"W-what's going on?!"

"W-where did you come from?!" The boy exclaimed, finally noticing me.

And that was the last thing I remembered, before I blacked out...

--

"Hey, are you okay?" A heard an unfamiliar voice say to me.

"I can't believe she followed me... Why couldn't I sense her presence?" Said a voice that sounded like that of the strange guy from earlier.

"Are you losing your touch, bro? Or maybe you kidnapped her?"

"Of course not!"

"By 'of course not' do you mean you're not losing your touch, or you didn't kidnap her?"

"Ergh..."

"Uhn..." I said, finally getting up.

"Look bro, she's up." The smaller boy stated.

"Yes, I can see that."

"Um, where am I?" I asked, aware of the unfamiliar surroundings.

"Our team base!" The small boy answered cheerfully.

"Don't tell her that!" Oran (the strange guy) said, whacking him on the head.

"Ow... Sorry, bro..."

"You!" Oran said to me, with an angry glare. "Why did you follow me here?!"

"Um... out of curiosity?" I answered, fidgeting. "I saw you outside acting weird, so I decided to see what you were doing..."

"But why couldn't I sense you? What do you know about this place?"

"I don't know! I just transferred today, so I don't even know much about the school itself..."

"A transfer student... That explains it." Oran commented, scratching his head.

"So, what are going to do with her, bro?" Oran's little brother asked him, spinning in his chair.

"She knows too much, so I'll have to use the mind eraser on her."

"M-mind eraser?!" I exclaimed. "I'm afraid to ask, but what does it do exactly?"

"Erase your memory, of course." Oran told me bluntly. "The only downside to using it is that you'll forget everything that happened today. But it can't be helped."

"W-wait a sec; don't erase my memory! I can keep a secret; promise!"

"I'm not going to trust someone I just met with a secret like this, especially since you snuck your way in here."

"I told you, I was just curious... Besides, why is this stuff so secret anyway? What's this place even for?"

"I guess we might as well tell you, since we're erasing your memory anyway." Oran's brother said to me. "By the way, my name's Reed. What's yours?"

"Oh, it's Bel..."

"Nice to meet you, Bel! That's my older brother, Oran. He may seem mean, but he's actually pretty nice once you get to know him."

Him, nice? I highly doubt it...

"Hey Reed, can you tell me about this place?" I asked him.

"Sure! This place is called 'Double Palette'. It's our team base!"

"Team base? But what's it for?"

"Have you heard of the Light-Colored Organization?" Oran suddenly asked.

"Yeah; wasn't that the group of people that defeated the dark-colored? What about 'em?"

"This place is one of many sections that is part of that organization."

"Wait, you're telling me you two work for the Light-Colored Organization?!"

"Yes, that's right!" Reed responded.

"But why is it still around? Didn't the dark-colored spirits disappear a long time ago?"

"It'd be nice if that were the case, wouldn't it?" Oran told me, a little more calmly than usual. "But unfortunately, as long as there remain dark hearted people in this world, they'll continue to spawn anew."

"I see..." I said, finally understanding things a bit. "But why have we been told they've disappeared?"

"The normal citizens of Roc-Drollow weren't even supposed to find out about the dark-colored, actually... To cover it up, we had to make everyone think we'd eliminated them already."

"If we didn't keep this all a secret, it might cause a panic even worse than last time." Reed added. "I hope you understand."

"Yeah, I understand..." I told him.

"Good, now let's -..."

"Does that mean you get cool powers and stuff?!" I blurted out, almost jumping out of my seat.

"H-huh?" Oran looked at me with a confused look on his face.

"Heheh, she's pretty interesting, isn't she?" Reed said while chuckling.

"Hey, if I become a part of your team, can I get cool powers too? I swear not to tell anyone about this place!"

"What's wrong with you?!" Oran yelled, his angry expression returning. "This isn't a game! Do you realize how dangerous this is?!"

"Hey bro, why not give her a chance? This team needs one more person, after all..."

"Really?" I asked, staring at the purple seat I was sitting on.

"This team doesn't need another person!" Oran responded, seeming more angry than usual.

"S-sorry, bro..."

"Pretty please?" I asked, looking at my last line of hope (Reed). "My life was so boring before I found this place..."

"No means no!" Oran exclaimed immediately.

"Bro, can't we at least test her first? She might be able to help us. You never know..."

"Reed, why are being so persistant about this?!"

"It's kind of lonely with just us two here. Besides, doesn't Bel remind you of h-..."

"Alright, fine!" Oran cut in, finally giving up. "But if she doesn't do well, she can't join us."

"Yay, this is awesome! Thanks, Reed!" I said, hugging him.

"Um, you're welcome?" Reed responded, trying to free himself from my grip.

"Hmph..."

It looks like my life will definitely be more interesting from now on! Although things didn't turn out exactly as I planned... but oh well! I wonder what they'll have me do...

Writer's Comments:

So I got Tri-Star Palette's 1st chapter done. To be honest, I was kinda lazy making this one...

I guess I can go back and fix this later; after I finish the other chapters.

Meh...
